Boardstock: SAIP’s New Strategic Frontier
Interview with Loris Denis Massarotto
In recent years, SAIP has significantly strengthened its position in the Boardstock production line sector for polyurethane insulation panels. This path has also included the addition to the team, about two years ago, of Loris Denis Massarotto, a professional with extensive international experience in the polyurethane industry.
SAIP is making a major investment in the Boardstock sector.
What is the strategy behind this decision?
The thermal insulation market is currently one of the most dynamic markets worldwide.
Regulations aimed at improving building energy efficiency, together with the growing focus on reducing energy consumption, are strongly driving the demand for high-performance insulation materials.
In this context, paper-faced Boardstock panels represent a very interesting solution because they are used in a wide range of applications in residential construction, including wall and roof insulation systems, ETICS systems, and HVAC applications.
For this reason, SAIP has decided to invest significantly in the development of production lines dedicated to this market segment. This strategic choice is already delivering important results: recently we secured two new orders for Boardstock production lines from two leading companies in the European and American markets.
What differentiates SAIP Boardstock lines in the market?
Boardstock production lines are highly complex systems because they must guarantee high productivity, process stability, and consistent panel quality even at very high production speeds.
Achieving these results requires the effective integration of plant engineering, chemical process management, and advanced automation systems.
SAIP’s added value lies precisely in this integrated approach. We do not simply supply a production line; we work closely with our customers to optimize the entire industrial process, from raw material management to foam control and the stability of the final panel.
In this process, the collaboration with the CeDePa R&D center in Spain also plays an important role.
Absolutely. The collaboration with the CeDePA research center is a key element in the development of new technological solutions.
Thanks to this synergy, we are working on several innovations both in plant engineering and in the management of the chemical process.
One of the most interesting areas concerns the use of fillers directly in the high-pressure mixing head. This technology makes it possible to improve foam distribution control on the substrate and optimize the final panel quality.
So it would be fair to say that SAIP is not positioning itself simply as a plant manufacturer.
Exactly.
Our goal is to position SAIP as a technology partner capable of supporting customers in the development of their production lines and in solving complex industrial challenges.
By integrating engineering expertise, deep polyurethane know-how, and continuous research and development activities, SAIP today presents itself to the market not as an additional supplier of Boardstock production lines, but as a company able to deliver real innovation and technological solutions focused on productivity, quality, and the competitiveness of its customers.
